Following the 2020 Agreement between Greece and Italy on the delimitation of their respective maritime zones (Law 4716/2020), an Exclusive Economic Zone was proclaimed, by Presidential Decree 33/2025. Greece and Egypt concluded in 2020 an agreement on the delimitation of the Exclusive Economic Zone between the two countries (Law 4717/2020). Upon entry into force of this Agreement, an ΕΕΖ of Greece was declared in that area."
